The House of Art Futurist Depero is the only museum founded by a futurist - the same Depero, in 1957 - according to an irreverent and prophetic project: innovation, humor, felling of each tree in the arts.
The building was located in the elegant medieval center of Rovereto. Depero, a true pioneer of contemporary design, personally oversaw every detail: the mosaics, furniture, painted panels. He died in 1960, shortly after it opened.
January 17, 2009, on the occasion of the centenary of Futurism, the Mart has given a second life at Casa Depero. A complex restoration, designed by architect Renato Rizzi, has recovered the original zones designed by the artist, while also adding two new levels directly inspired flavored Fortunato Depero.
Inside you can admire, exhibited in rotation, about 3000 objects left by the artist to the city, including paintings, drawings, fabric intarsia, graphic and toys. The first half of 2017 will also offer visitors the unique opportunity to see, for the first time at Casa Depero, the new edition of the famous setting designed by Depero for "Le chant du Rossignol", the ballet set to music by Igor Stravinsky inspired by the fairy tale Hans Christian Andersen.
Casa Depero also houses a rich exhibition program, which reinterprets the original vocation of this place for dialogue between artists and the local community in a contemporary way.

"Quando vivrò di quello che ho pensato ieri, comincerò ad avere paura di chi mi copia"
"When I will live what I thought yesterday, I'll start being afraid of who copies me."
Fortunato Depero
