The Italian War History Museum, founded in 1921, is headquartered in Rovereto Castle. It preserves a rich documentation of the aspects not only military, but also the First World War, cultural and social.
The exhibition, recently renovated, is dedicated to fighting mode and the equipment of the soldiers in the nineteenth century and the First World War.
In the windows you can find a rich collection of objects and photographs, materials related to trench warfare, flyers, posters and testimonies of the experience of combatants and civilians.

In the towers of the castle you can see the collection of modern age weapons (XVI-XVIII century) and a collection of weapons and tools from prehistoric times to the Middle Ages.
The War Museum holds temporary exhibitions dedicated to the memory of the Great War and modern conflicts, educational activities for families and for the school. It also promotes study and research, ensure publication of works to historiographical and documentary participates in film productions.
In the past, the castle of Rovereto has guarded Maria Dolens, the famous Bell of the Fallen, now located on the hill of Miravalle. In its rooms, it remains visible the original plaster model.
